Details: The New Jersey Center For The Book will be celebrating the 350th Anniversary of the Great State of New Jersey on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, from 11-4:30 PM with an eye toward literacy. Besides showcasing its 12 grant winning NJ libraries from around the state, the NJCFB will be hosting an authors’ and illustrators’ alley. The program would begin with guest speaker world-renowned artist sculptor and founder of The Grounds for Sculpture Seward Johnson and a presentation by the Library of Congress from 1-2 PM, preceded and followed by author and exhibit visits by the attendees. A crowd of more than a thousand people is expected to attend, mostly made up of young families. Two auditorium spaces will be presenting programs throughout the afternoon. There will also be an area for craft demonstrations, book art displays, and educational workshops. Wil Mara will be among a select group of authors and illustrators who will be greeting the public and selling their books. In addition to the displays offered by the grant-winning libraries, exhibits from other New Jersey libraries, New Jersey Historical Society, New Jersey Department of the Humanities, and groups such as the New Jersey lacemakers will be featured. http://www.njcenterforthebook.org/content/view/242
