Wil took over for Pat Kirwan during the last half hour of the NFL Network’s “The End Zone,” as Pat had a ‘good emergency’ to attend to. 16 October 2007 The Cut, the second of Wil’s ‘NFL novels,’ is released worldwide by St. Martin’s Press. 23 September 2007 The first chapter of Wil’s new football novel, The Cut, is available for download. It is chosen, along with nineteen other titles, among the thousands of books published from 1995 to 2005 that possess a New Jersey theme, flavor, subject matter, etc. This is the first time the Center has bestowed this honor. In recognition, all twenty titles are incorporated into a poster that is sent to libraries statewide. Only twenty titles will ultimately be chosen for this honor, and they will be announced at the Center's first annual Author Awards Day on April 20, 2006. Commemorative posters will be distributed throughout the state to celebrate these books and their authors. 14 October 2005 New York publishing powerhouse St. Martin's Press signs a deal with Wil for his ‘NFL novels.’ An October '06 release is planned for the first title in the group, The Draft. Newswire. 26 July 2005 The Press of Atlantic City runs an article on Wave in both their print and online editions. 5 July 2005 Wil is interviewed by LBI's popular Beachcomber newspaper in support of Wave. The article eventually runs in the July 15th issue. 3 June 2005 One autographed copy of Wave is slated for sale in a charity auction to benefit one of New Jersey's Shriner Hospitals for Children. 5 June 2005 After only one month on the shelves, Wave heads into its second printing. 8 May 2005 Wave, Wil's latest novel (from Plexus Publishing) is released. 15 December 2004 Wil's ‘Rookie Biography’ on Paul Revere, published by Scholastic in 2004, has been nominated for the 2005 Spur Award, in the Outstanding Nonfiction Title for Early Readers category.
